It's Postcard Friday

I just got this wonderful postcard on Ebay from a lovely lady in France.  She has some of the best vintage postcards I have EVER seen.  They are so cool, what with the old writing, the stamps, and the cancellation marks.

I hope you like this one as much as I do.  Oh, and the name of the seller?  cursus76

Wishing everyone a great weekend.  Hopefully, I'll get back into full blogging mode soon & I'm already planning TWO giveaways in the near future.  More later.

PS.  I still need some "Pay It Forward" participants!

Postcard Friday

Well, another Friday is upon us.  Here is my contribution to Postcard Friday.  I hope you like it - it's from 1909.  Don't you just love the old style of handwriting?

Also, please don't forget I'm participating in a Pay It Forward gift giving.  See the post from 1/21 for more info.

Pay It Forward

Okay, life has thrown me some curve balls lately, but there have been some wonderful people come into my life, people I have never met (like Rebecca from yesterday's post) that have made me smile and/or cry tears of joy and not pain.

Therefore, I'm participating in a blog Pay It Forward.  I've joined with Sara at Ditsy Bird Designs, Kelly at 74 Lime Lane, and several others, to Pay It Forward.  Here's how it goes:

■  I will make a handmade gift for the first 3 people who comment on this post.

■  I have 365 days in which to do it

■  What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise!

The catch is that you must participate as well ~ you must also pay it forward. Write up a little pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or just copy this one).  Spread a little love, possibly around the world, and who knows, you may make someone's day.

I cannot begin to explain the feeling I have when I get a totally unexpected gift.  The joy is indescribable.  I'm so grateful that I want to share that feeling with others.

Now, you may ask me how am I supposed to do that, considering it's well-documented on my blog that I'm having some major health issues with my back, neck, and hands.  Well, I have 365 days in which to accomplish this.  Hopefully, it will be done a LOT sooner (say a month or two), but I know I have that amount of time.  Anyone can make three gifts in a year, even ME.  :)

Soooooooo, join in. Have fun. Spread joy.

Comment below to join in the fun.

There are Angels Among Us

And mine took the form of Rebecca of Vintage Living.  Imagine my surprise when I received a package in the mail from her.  I thought, "I don't remember an order".  I remember wanting to place an order for some bottle brush Christmas Trees and Reindeer but not being able to due to current and for-seen medical expenses.  It looks as if I need two surgeries, one on my neck, one on my back, but I'm waiting on a doctor to call back with one more test that I need before the neuro-surgeon will operate - something called a Discography (well at least on my neck - got to wait on my back - that's after the neck).

So what do I find in the package from Rebecca?  A Santa, Reindeer, Bottle Brush Christmas Trees, a tiny trunk, a tiny pin, and oh so many other little items (I LOVE miniatures).  I just have to share her kindness with all of you.  For the first time in a long time, I was crying tears of joy instead of tears of pain.

Thank you Rebecca.  You brought me sunshine.

It's Postcard Friday!

Sorry that I am only posting once a week right now & that I haven't posted any contests in my sidebar lately. I have such a great group of followers & promist I am going to make it up to y'all soon.

The pain in my neck is still bad and I have now been told I must have a disctonomy (sp?) that apparently is very barbaric and extremely painful!  That will tell the neurosurgeon if surgery will help. My second steroid shot for my back didn't help & I've been told surgery will be next for it.  Also, I will be seeing a doctor about my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (which has involved BOTH arms).  I'm waiting for her nurse to call back with an appointment.  So hang in there all my great followers.  Please.

Now for today's postcard.  It's a vintage one of a pretty lady from Philadelphia in the 1900s with a NOKO Stamp code 1907-1920s.  I'm not showing the back, nothing fancy, no writing and it's not been used.  I won it just the other day.

Also, I LOVE postcards and joined Postcrossing not too long ago and have been receiving some wonderful postcards from around the world. Even vintage ones!  I treasure them all and have a special binder they will go in.

Okay, here's the pic!

Okay, it's yours to use in your art projects, but PLEASE do not pass it off as yours.  If you send it on or share it with others, just mention where you got it from.

Thanks and have a great weekend everyone!

Postcard Fridays

I'm just popping in real quick before I have to leave for the doctor.

Today's postcard is a leather one from Marshall, Tx.  I saw it and had to have it.  Enjoy.  Oh, and it looks much better as a small picture.

Enjoy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wishing all my blogger friends a Happy New Year!  Thank you followers, friends, and occasional readers :) .  You're always there when I have a need to vent.

I have SOOOOOO much I want to tell and share (some funny/some sad/some stupid) but I'm up to my eyeballs in projects while on holiday leave.  I have a camera and cell phone FULL of pictures.  Oh, yeah, wait til you hear about me painting my son's bathroom.  ARRRGGHHH  LOL..

So above are a few vintage images.  They aren't mine, but were shared with me and I'm sharing with you.  Please don't pass them off as yours.  I DO have some of my own, but need to get them scanned to share.

If you want to visit a really neat blog, hop on over and see Jenny - she is such a cool person & a total riot!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Now I'm off to bed.  Got to visit Hobby Lobby & Michaels in the morning, get New Year's dinner in the oven, and a couple of projects completed BEFORE family arrive in the early afternoon.
