Edgar Allen Poe Blog Hop The Black Cat

Hello everyone!  I'm back with another project for the Edgar Allen Poe Blog Hop.  Today I want to share a journal page.

This journal page was created using Zentangle Cat & Old Typewriter Alphabet from Lost Coast Designs and Edgar Allen Poe from Carmen's Veranda.  I first sprayed the page with yellow mist then stamped old Edgar directly on the page.  I masked him off then stenciled the entire page using texture paste mixed with gray Nuance Powder.  I stamped the cat, cut him out, and colored him in with a black Sharpie, adding some rhinestones for a collar.  Next I stamped The Black Cat with black pigment ink and embossed with chunky black EP.  Finally I added black dots around the edges.

Now it's YOUR turn!  Either click on the link below to add your project to the hop or click on the Poe Hop image on my sidebar.  Enjoy!

Edgar Allen Poe Blog Hop Nevermore

Good morning everyone!  I'm participating in the Edgar Allen Poe Blog Hop!  Today I want to share with you an ATC I created just for the swap.

I used one of the new stamps Lost Coast Designs released for this hop, Zentangle Raven Left Small along with Crow Border and Cat Quotes

1) Rub Spiced Marmalade Distress Paint across the ATC.  Using the Tim Holtz Twisted Stencil, stencil with Seedless Preserves.
2)  Mask off some of the crows on the Crow Border and randomly stamp with black ink.
3)  Stamp Cat Quotes using sepia ink randomly across card.
4)  Using transparent gloss texture paste and the Tim Holtz Linen stencil, randomly stencil.
5)  Flick black, orange, and white mists across background.
6)  Stamp Zentangle Raven Left Small and cut out.  Pop up off page with pop dots.
7)  Using rubons letters, add Nevermore to the bottom of the card.  Edge with black ink.

Now it's YOUR turn to join the hop!  Click on the InLinkz link below or click on the Poe Hop image on my sidebar to link up your project!

Lost Coast Designs World Traveler & Carmen's Veranda Kukla & Ollie

Good morning everyone!  It's New Release day over at Lost Coast Designs & Carmen's Veranda and I wanted to share a couple of items I created with some of the new stamps.

First up, World Traveler.  I used the new Aud Creatures #9 for this ATC along with Nuances powders for the background.  Then I did a little stenciling using a mini layering stencil and Nuance powder mixed with transparent glossy texture paste.  The image was stamped, colored with watercolor pencils, and then cut out and applied with pop dots.  It's the first brand new project I created since being flooded in August.  So good to be back!

Next, I created this small, simple tag using the new Carmen's Vernada Kukla and Ollie stamp set. I stenciled with sepia ink through a mini layering stencil for the background and then applied the fussy cut images which were painted with Twinkling H2Os.  Last I added a few rubons and some painted wood embellishments.  Total change of color scheme, right?

Here are all the new stamps!

Welcome 2017 with Gecko Galz

Good morning everyone!  I hope your new year has gotten off to a good start.  Today I wanted to share some projects I created using Gecko Galz digital collage sheets.  These are all super easy to create and can be done with a minimum of supplies.

This tag is the one I created for the Gecko Galz Customer Challenge.  Don't forget to get your entries in for a chance to win some wonderful Gecko Galz sheets.  I started off with the In Marble Halls paper pack, chosing the blue and white marbled sheet.  I then used an image from Snow Maidens & outlined it with some clear bling.  Randomly placed snowflakes and dots of Nuvo drops in Midnight Blue and Crystal fill out the tag.  I get cold looking at it.

This is a very simple ATC to create.
1)  Cut the image from the Ring in the New Year collage sheet, trimming the bottom half away.  Set aside.  Save the Happy New Year from the bottom of the image
2)  Using a Kraft ATC blank, add stenciling using a mixture of Metallique Antique Coin and translucent glossy texture paste and a squiggle stencil.
3)  Center your image on the ATC.  Add Happy New Year to the bottom and them add small brads on each corner.
I needed to create a fat book page for a swap I'm participating in and loved this image from the Ring in the New Year collage sheet.
1)  Start with a 4x4 piece of Bristol paper.  Spray the paper with some light yellow mist and then stencil the design using Metallique Emerald paint mixed with translucent glossy texture paste.
2)  Add the image to the right side of the paper leaving room for the trim.
3)  Add gold trim around all four edges.
4)  Using the same spray as for the background, spray four pre-cut cardstock photo corners and add them to each corner.
5)  Watercolor a chipboard "J" with yellow watercolor pencil and add to the left of the image.
For the last piece, I used a black twinchie as my base.
1)  Stencil on the design using the TH Tracks Mini Layering Stencil and Rosebud Nuance Powder mixed with opaque white texture paste.  Dry well.
2)  Trim your image from Dog Gone Cute Jewel It and center it on the twinchie.
3)  Add drops of Nuvo Caribbean Ocean to the corners of the image and twinchie.
4)  Scatter rhinestones randomly across the twinchie.

Yes, these were all super simple projects.  At the time I worked on these, I was (& still am) working with a very limited supply to pull from.  Most of you know I lost my entire studio, contents and building, in the Great Flood that hit south Louisiana.  I have been slowly adding supplies as funds allow and my projects should gain in complexity as time passes.  Please bear with me while I build up my stash.  I've also gone from 200 sq.ft. of building to a 5 ft. table shoved into a corner in the FEMA trailer we are living in,
