Gecko Galz Design Team Projects, Hearts and Kisses Challenge, and a Free Digi Stamp

Good morning everyone!  This month's challenge over on the Gecko Girls blog is Hearts and Kisses.  So following that theme, here are a couple of projects and a quick overview of how they were created.

1)  Paint a cardboard tag with black gesso
2)  Stencil on hearts with red paint (I used Dylusions Postbox Red) and the Tim Holtz Hearts stencil.
3)  Emboss a few of the hearts with white embossing powder, removing some so the red of the hearts show through.
4)  Trim the images from Valentine Wishes and add to your tag.
5)  Add red sequins and small flatback red pearls randomly down one side.

1)  Cut out an image from the Romance Jewel It collage sheet.
2)  Trim to fit your mini domino.
3)  Glue on with Glossy Accents and then add a layer of Glossy Accents to the top.  Dry.
4)  Run thin cord around the edges.
5)  Add gems at each corner.
6)  Add a bail to the back and string on ball chain.

1)  Spray your journal page with Art Anthology Timeless and Siesta Key Colorations (or any yellow and turquoise blue mist).
2)  Stencil on dots using Art Anthology Blocked Stencil (or any other stencil with tiny dots).
3)  Paint circles with yellow paint (I used Paper Artsy Lemon Zest).
4)  Paint diamond strip using orange and blue paint (I used Art Anthology Fiji and Tango Velvets).
4)  Paint your flower with the same colors.
5)  Cut out your image from the Isn't it Romantic and add it to the lower right corner.
6)  Arrange your elements and add your quote.

1)  Spray a tag with Art Anthology Rustic and French Toast Colorations (or any rusty pink & brown mists).
2)  Add stamping of your choice.
3)  Stencil with Tim Holtz Measured stencil.
4)  Cut out a 3-1/2 x 2/12 square from the Namaste Paper Pack.
5)  Cut out an image from Vintage Portraits.
6)  Run Golden Rod Stickles around the edges of you collage image.  Dry well.
7)  Arrange everything and then add some Prima flowers.  Tie a bow at the top.

And here is your free image!

Weird Journal Page for Technique Junkies

Good morning everyone!  Today I have a journal page I created for Technique Junkies using a couple of their stamp sets.

I started by stamping Double Weird on the lower right corner of my page.  I then masked it off with masking fluid.  Next I sprayed Art Anthology Valentine Colorations over the entire page.  Once that had dried, I stamped Brick Wall until my page was covered.  It takes some finesse, but you can stamp so it looks continuous.

I then removed the masking fluid from my stamp and painted one of the "weird" guys with Paper Artsy Eggplant and the other with Art Anthology Orchid Velvet.  Next I added washi tape along the right side and the bottom.  I stamped the sentiment from Double Weird Sayings, sprayed with Art Anthology Wild Orchids Colorations, cut it out, and added it to the upper left corner.  Finally I doodled around the edges with a white Signa pen and outlined a few of the "bricks".

A simple page, but I love it.  Until later................

Gecko Galz February Customer Challenge

Good morning everyone!  It's February 1st and that means it's time for a new Gecko Galz Customer Challenge.  Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, this month's theme is Hearts & Kisses.  Below is my contribution to the Challenge.

The background is created using a combination of Velvets and Sorbets from Art Anthology.  I use this journal to mop up all my excess paints when working on a project and in the process get some wonderful backgrounds.

First I stenciled three large hearts and six smaller onces using the Tim Holtz Hearts Stencil,  Next I cut out three images from the Jewel It Romance Collage Sheet and glued them to my page with my Xyron.  I cut up and applied some pearls appliques that I had in my stash and then randomly added black and white dots.  The images are outlined in pink and then again outlined in black to frame them.  "Love" is a wood die cut from Melissa Francis that I painted with Cotton Candy Velvet and then went over with a pink alcohol marker.  Finally, I decided that the white applique pieces were too light and I colored them with a pink alcohol maker.

You can find the collage sheet I used as well as many others in the Gecko Galz Etsy Store.

And that's it!  Have a wonderful February.

Until later....................

You've just seen Sally Lynns' project and I think you have to agree her work is out of this world!!  Her cards and other projects are wonderful.

Here is the hop participants in order:
I had some really fabulous stamps to work with and decided to created three projects!

This month, I tried my hand at making a card.  I simply stamped Hats Off on white cardstock using black Versifine ink, matted it on black cardstock, and then mounted it to my card.  I stamped "just a Note" from the Sentimental Sayings set at the bottom of the card.

For my first ATC, I sprayed the background with Art Anthology Barbie Colorations, then dripped Radiance and Enchanting Minx side to side, alternating the sides.  I stamped the movie camera and slide from the new Oh Snap Set of 7 onto mixed media paper and cut them out.  The camera was stamped using black Archival Ink and the slide was stamped using Studio 490 Orange Blossom ink.  I used a tiny image from I had and cut it to fit my slide.  I layered them with a couple of metal embellishments I had and then stamped the "Life moves pretty fast" sentiment from the Oh Snap Set of 7 directly onto the ATC.

For this ATC, I sprayed the background with Art Anthology Sandcastle and Avocado Colorations and then added little squares using sepia Archival Ink and the Blocked stencil.  I stamped the camera and "Oh Snap" from the Oh Snap Set of 7 directly onto the ATC with black Versifine ink.  I then sprinkled Take for Granite Prills across it.
