February New Releases - Technique Junkies Blog Hop

Good Morning Junkies!!  Hope your February is starting off great.  Have your been getting snow or just some cold weather (it's been rainy and chilly here).  In anticipation of February being a great month, the Technique Junkies team is hosting a blog hop to share all the new exciting February Releases with you.  So join us today as we hop into February and showcase all the new stamps  Don't forget to to visit each team members blog in order not to miss any of the fun.  If you  haven’t started at the beginning, please visit the Technique Junkie Designer Blog (http://techniquejunkies.blogspot.com) so you are sure to catch it all!

You've just seen Sally Lynns' project and I think you have to agree her work is out of this world!!  Her cards and other projects are wonderful.

Here is the hop participants in order:
I had some really fabulous stamps to work with and decided to created three projects!

This month, I tried my hand at making a card.  I simply stamped Hats Off on white cardstock using black Versifine ink, matted it on black cardstock, and then mounted it to my card.  I stamped "just a Note" from the Sentimental Sayings set at the bottom of the card.

For my first ATC, I sprayed the background with Art Anthology Barbie Colorations, then dripped Radiance and Enchanting Minx side to side, alternating the sides.  I stamped the movie camera and slide from the new Oh Snap Set of 7 onto mixed media paper and cut them out.  The camera was stamped using black Archival Ink and the slide was stamped using Studio 490 Orange Blossom ink.  I used a tiny image from I had and cut it to fit my slide.  I layered them with a couple of metal embellishments I had and then stamped the "Life moves pretty fast" sentiment from the Oh Snap Set of 7 directly onto the ATC.

For this ATC, I sprayed the background with Art Anthology Sandcastle and Avocado Colorations and then added little squares using sepia Archival Ink and the Blocked stencil.  I stamped the camera and "Oh Snap" from the Oh Snap Set of 7 directly onto the ATC with black Versifine ink.  I then sprinkled Take for Granite Prills across it.

Friendship Journal Page for Technique Junkies

Good morning fellow Junkies!  I've created a journal page for you today using one of the great background stamps Technique Junkies carries.  In this case, I turned it into my focal point.

1)  Spray your journal page with Art Anthology Salted Caramel Colorations.  Blot well then spray with Barbie Colorations.  This page had some overspray from another one I did and I think it looks just fine (colors oversprayed were Peacock Feathers and Wild Orchid).
2)  Stamp Peonies in black ink.
3)  Using a heavy hand, highlight areas of the flowers with Art Anthology Ferrari Sorbet.  You want to follow the contours set by the stamped image.
4)  Using a black art pencil, definte the outline of the stamped image.  Smudge slightly.
5)  Stencil around the image using Gold Metal Effects and the Blocked Stencil.
6)  Using a black art pencil, darken the shaded areas of the Peonies to better define the flower.
7)  Mix a little Matte Gel Medium with Minnie Pearl Prills and "paint" onto the page.
8)  Add "FRIENDSHIP" at the bottom (from a vellum quote), and a burlap butterly (mine was colored with Gold Dust, Indulgence, and Stargazer Minx, a new product not currently released).

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Until later..........

Walking

Good morning!  I've been playing with tags again and I have a quirky one ready for you today using a couple of Technique Junkies stamps.

I sprayed the tag with Art Anthology Colorations in Plush, Juicy, and Glorious.  I then stenciled a couple of butterflies using the Art Anthology Butterfly Flight stencil and Mud.  I painted the butterflies with Art Anthology Dimensional Gems in Garner, Flourite, and Emerald and glued down some Prills in Gourd-Jus, Berry Nice, and Plum Crazy.

Since my background was done, I went to work with my Technique Junkies stamps.  I stamped Fan Girl and Do Wah Ditty onto a piece of mixed media paper, cut them out and then painted.  Fan Girl was painted with Art Anthology Lemon Tart, Portobello, and Cotton Candy Velvet and Silver Metal Effects.  I sprayed the Do Wah Ditty sentiment with Art Anthology Colorations in Wild Orchid.

A couple of pieces of fiber and I was done!

Hope you enjoyed today's tag.

Until later.........................
