Domestic Goddess with Gecko Galz plus a free Digi Stamp

Good morning everyone!  Today is my day over on the Gecko Galz blog and as always, I'm sharing with you here how I created everything.

To start, lay down pieces of lace, punchinella, coins, and squares.  Coat everything with gesso and when dry, spray with LSG Blingy Blonde, Merci Beaucoup Mint, Pineapple Paradise, and Tiffany Lou Blue mists.  Dry well.  Tap out some LSG Curiouser Chartreuse and Tweedle Dee Denim Magicals and mist with water. Dry.  Stencil with Stencil Girl Block stencil and embossing paste.  Cut out images from Domestic Goddess Collage Sheet and adhere to the page.  Outline Domestic Goddess with black watercolor pencil and smudge with a water brush.  Outline all squares with Prussian Blue watercolor pencil and blend with a water brush.  Using the same color, outline Domestic Goddess.  Use a liner brush and Nuance royal blue powder mixed with water to outline page.

Spray LSG Cotton Candy Pink, Pineapple Paradise, and Cheshire Cat Cherry.  Dry until it's just damp and then sprinkle with Tweedle Dee Denim Magicals and lightly mist with water.  Do a little random stenciling with the Prima Flourish stencil and transparent embossing paste (the paste wicks up the spray).  If it's a little too subtle, run some blue chalk ink over the stenciled area.  Cut out images from the Domestic Goddess Collage Sheet and add to the page.  Using a liner brush, outline the entire page with red Nuance powder mixed with water.

These magnets were a breeze to make.  Choose two images from the Let's Get Nautical Collage Sheet and cut out.  Place two pieces of 2x2 memory glass over the images, moving around until you have the composition you want.  Trace around the edges of the glass with a pencil and then trim your images.  Ink edges with Walnut Distress Ink.  Glue the images to the glass using Glossy Accents.  When dry, glue magnets onto the back.

Unfortunately, I misplaced the directions to how to create this 4x4, but I used the With A Glance Collage Sheet, some washi tape, a few words, and a fleur-de-lis stencil.  I kept the color in shades of blue with just a splash of purple.

Yep, another one I lost the instructions to.  This is an ATC I created with this month's free digi stamp available below.  I colored the background with pigment powder first.  The image was printed onto paper, colored with markers, cut out, and then added to the ATC.  I used soft matte gel to add several different colors of prills around the image and stamped DREAM at the top.

For The Birds with Lost Cost Designs

Good morning everyone!  It's Day 1 of the New Stamp Release Showcase for Lost Coast Designs going on over on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and I've got several projects to share with you over the next few days.  Since today's focus on the Portal is Whimsical Birds, that's what I'll share along with step by step instructions.

1)  Using a #8 tag, stamp Bubbles background in black ink.  Sprinkle with Nuance powder and spritz.
2)  Using orange and yellow markers, fill in some of the circles then dry brush Gesso over the entire tag.  Just a little; you only want to tone down the colors, not cover them up.
3)  Stamp Mini Whimsical Birds 1 & 2 with black permanent ink.  Color with your choice of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.
4)  Using Sizzix Mixed Media 3 die, cut several bricks from chipboard.  Paint with Paper Artsy Cherry Red and emboss with Fired Brick Distress EP.  With a baby wipe, brush a little black paint over the bricks, then again using a baby wipe, add a little PA Cherry Red around the edges.
5)  Water down some red and black paint and flick across the tag.  Do the same with some Gesso.
6)  Glue down the bricks and add the birds on top.
7)  Water down some gray Nuance powder and add shadows around the birds and bricks, blending well.  Also go around the edges of the tag.
8)  Cut out alphas and numbers and paint with gray Nuance powder mixed with a little water.
9)  Cut a piece of red ribbon and roll it a mix of gray Nuance powder and water.

At the Lake and Lock Up with Technique Junkies

Good morning everyone!  I have a couple of ATCs to share with you today that I created using Technique Junkies stamps.  I don't know what it is about ATCs but I just can't seem to get enough of them.

I started with a Bristol ATC and stamped Chain Link Fence using black Versafine ink.  I then embossed with clear EP.  I stamped the woman from The Rules onto a piece of mixed media paper, cut her out, and colored her with Art Anthology Colorations in Valentine, Glorious, Sandcastle, and Peacock Feathers, Art Anthology Velvet Portobello, and Metallique Gold Rush.  Next I stamped Lock Us Up onto a piece of mixed media paper, cut it out, wet it with water, then sprayed it with Art Anthology Glorious Colorations, edging it with washed tan ink.  

For this ATC, I once again started with a piece of Bristol paper.  I stamped Boom Boom Room with turquoise pigment ink and embossed with clear EP.  I then colored in the open boxes with Memento Potters Clay ink, a painbrush, and a little water to blend.  I stamped the anchor and sentiment from Better At The Lake Set of 5 and cut them out.  The anchor was painted with Metallique Silver Spoon mixed with glazing medium and Art Anthology Kona Velvet.  I then ran a black Micron pen around the edges.  I sprayed the sentiment with water to wet the paper and then misted with Art Anthology Siesta Key and blotted.  I edged it with Memento Desert Sand.

Merry Christmas! Christmas in July for LCD Portal to Creativity

Hi everyone!  I had an extra project I created for the Lost Cost Portal to Creativity.  I thought I'd share it with you today.

I'm not too great with cards, but I saw this Mary and Angels stamp on the Lost Coast Designs site and it was perfect for a greeting card.

I stamped Mary and Angels onto a piece of cardstock and trimmed it up, leaving a small border.  I painted their halos with Metallique Gold Rush, and their robes with various colors of Nuance powders.  I then mounted the cardstock onto a red card blank, ran a strip of Christmas washi tape across the bottom and added a 3-D sticker from K&Company.  Voila!  One completed card.

Dream Canvas for Gecko Galz July Challenge

Good morning everyone and welcome to another Gecko Galz Challenge post.  This month's wonderful theme is Moon and Stars.

To give you some inspiration, I decided to create a canvas.  Below is a step-by-step on how I created it.

1.  Gesso a 4x6 canvas panel.  Spray with Art Anthology Rustic and French Toast then dry.
2.  Drop Art Anthology Decadent Minx onto the canvas and smear with your fingers.
3.  Paint the edges with Diane Wakley Night acrylic paint.
4.  Cut out your image from the Moonbeams Digital Collage Sheet.  Add to the left side of the panel.
5.  Die cut a moon from chipboard and paint with Metallique Gold Rush.  When that is dry, add some Metallique Steampunk Copper with a palette knife.  Place on the canvas so it is "embracing" your image.
6.  Paint some stars with Metallique Silver Spoon and add them to your panel.
7.  Finish it up with some sentiments from Tim Holtz Small Talk.

Joy & Peace

Good morning everyone!  It's the first day of the Christmas in July event on the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity blog, To kick off the event, I've got a shrine to share with you.

Start by painting your shrine dark green. I used Hyde Park by Paper Artsy.  Stamp Santa Mona onto a piece of paper.  Emboss the ball on the hat and the fringe with white EP.  Cut out and place on the middle panel.

Paint the hat red, skin a light tan, and hair brown.   Stamp snowflakes from the Small Snowflake Set on each side panel and emboss with white EP.  Stamp Peace and Joy on the panel.  Add Tim Holtz Gilded Holidays rub-ons here and there.

Take a white pen and outline Santa Mona, Joy, and Peace then dot all over the panels.  Finally trim top and bottom with Tim Holtz Red Tinsel Twine.

Well, let's get started!  First up is a journal page I created with the new Oceanside stamp.

1.  Stamp Oceanside with Metallic Ink Dots.  You'll get a light impression.  Then, using a small brush, brush and pounce on color until you have a washed-out, watercolor effect.  Add some medium blue chalk with a brush to simulate water, taking care to make some areas darker.  

2.  Mix a tiny drop of black ink with modeling paste and spread through Art Anthologies Bird stencil.  When that is dry, go over the birds with a white pen and a black marker until you like the way they look.  Refer to pictures of seagulls if you can't remember their markings.  Slightly smudge so they blend in with the overall soft look of the stamped image.

3.  Spray a little Art Anthology Glorious and Juicy Colorations on your craft mat and spritz with water.  Brush on your page, alternating colors until your sky resembles sunset conditions.

4.  Stamp Life is Better at the Beach from the Better at the Lake set.

1.  Stamp Something Will Grow in black ink.  Use the Misti to get a good, rich black image.

2.  Drop Art Anthology Radiance, Allure, and Panche Minx onto the tag and using a straw, blow on them.  You want to do this a drop at a time and blow until you have lines going everywhere.

3.  Using a white pen, dot the tips of the dandelion and then start circling inward.  Finish off with matching fiber.

1.  Stamp Mermaid Love with several different colors of ink (I like pigment inks).  You want your image to be light.

2.  Stamp Lake Rules from Better at the Lake set over Mermaid Love in black ink.

3.  Brush Art Anthology Glorious over the top of the tag, then pounce on Marlin Colorations that has been diluted with water.

4.  Paint a few chipboard clouds white and scatter then across your tag.  Finish with fiber.

1.  Stamp the cats from Strange Cats onto an ATC.  I used my Misti to get a very dark impression.  Emboss with black EP.

2.  Stencil TCW Mini Harlequins using silver embossing paste on the left side and bottom.

3.  Sprinkle on pink pigment powder and spritz with water.

4.  Stamp randomly across the card with French Text and red ink.

5.  Add rubons under the cats to ground them so they aren't just floating in space.

6.  Stamp the phrase from Strange Cats onto a piece of paper, run through a Xyron, and cut into equal sections.  Add to card.

7.  Finish by rubbing Walnut Stain DI around the edges.
